Survivors' Testimony

Overview

Personal accounts by survivors of the Holocaust make an indelible impression on all who hear them. As the number of witnesses diminishes, it is essential that their stories are heard and their experiences recorded.

The Holocaust Educational Trust of Ireland facilitates survivors’ visits to second and third level centres of education, community groups and to other organisations.

Meeting with Holocaust survivors and hearing their personal testimony prompts listeners to consider the Holocaust and its consequences, reflecting on wider issues of racism and intolerance.

In addition, the Trust is committed to recording and making available the testimony of Holocaust survivors, particularly those with a connection to Ireland. This provides an important resource for teachers, students and researchers at all levels.
