The Holocaust Educational Trust of Ireland encourages artistic projects that promote the study, creation, performance and exhibition of works of art related to the Holocaust. Holocaust awareness provides a platform for the development of cultural projects that address prejudice and discrimination but also promote the celebration of diversity in Ireland today.
Arts and culture have the potential to reach the wider community and raise awareness about the Holocaust and its current relevance to racism. These projects inspire participants and audiences to reflect on issues about discrimination of every kind.
The Trust co-operates with individuals and organisations involved in arts and culture and welcomes partnership with artists, cultural bodies, colleges, libraries and others. Many art and cultural works exist that relate to the Holocaust and to the theme of discrimination. The Trust encourages examination and exploration of existing works and lends support to the development of new works for inclusion in cultural and artistic projects related to racism and intolerance.
